At RIOD, we believe that drug policies in Ibero-America currently face a key challenge, take the step towards a more comprehensive, consistent, and truly human rights-centered model of care<\/strong>that breaks with fragmented responses based on a single model. That is why we have developed a proposal entitled \u201cComprehensive and Continuous Care: for a non-fragmented approach, with equity and rights,\u201d which is structured around three pillars: the continuum of care, the intersectional approach, and evidence-based resource investment <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This document is part of the program \u201cRIOD Internacional IV<\/strong>. De la propuesta a la acci\u00f3n: participando a nivel Internacional\u201d funded by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and Agenda 2030<\/strong> under the 0.7 call for proposals for 2024, which aims to continue strengthening the presence and participation of the Third Sector of Social Action specializing in Drugs and Addictions in international decision-making spaces, maintain and improve the RIOD International platform, and implement this political advocacy strategy, the result of which is the document that can be found published in<\/strong> the following link https:\/\/riod.org\/atencion-integral-y-continua-por-un-abordaje-sin-fragmentaciones-con-equidad-y-derechos\/ <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four experts representing each of the nodes that constiutute RIOD participated in the preparation of this document: Josep Rovira Guardiola<\/strong> (Asociaci\u00f3n Bienestar y Desarrollo- Spain Node), Ana Mar\u00eda Echeberr\u00eda<\/strong> (Encare- South Node), Silverio Espinal<\/strong> (Corporaci\u00f3n Surgir-Andean Node) and Quetzalli Manzano<\/strong> (Cure- Central America, Mexico, and Caribbean Node). It was also validated by relevant actors in the field of drugs and addiction, such as: Isabel Cristina Posada<\/strong> (Professor at the National School of Public Health, University of Antioquia-Medell\u00edn), Milton Roman\u00ed<\/strong> (Ambassador, former Secretary General of the National Drug Council of Uruguay), Oriol Roman\u00ed <\/strong>(Doctor of Anthropology, professor emeritus and member of the Medical Anthropology Research Center at the University of Barcelona) and \u00d3scar Flores<\/strong> (National Commission on Mental Health and
Addictions, Mexico)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
